During the first week of August, twelve CEA members attended the MTA Summer Conference at UMass Amherst. There was a tremendous range of experiences, almost universally significantly positive! CEA Goes to Washington
Eight CEA members went to the NEA Representative Assembly in Washington DC in early July. It is an amazing experience to be in a room with nearly 10,000 educators from all across the country debating the priorities of the NEA for the coming year. Topics of conversation included reactions to the authorization of ESSA (Elementary and Secondary Education Act - the next, but greatly improved No Child Left Behind), the school to prison pipeline, LGBTQ issues and high stakes testing.
