CEA Goes to Washington

September 12, 2016

Eight CEA members went to the NEA Representative Assembly in Washington DC in early July.  It is an amazing experience to be in a room with nearly 10,000 educators from all across the country debating the priorities of the NEA for the coming year.  Topics of conversation included reactions to the authorization of ESSA (Elementary and Secondary Education Act – the next, but greatly improved No Child Left Behind), the school to prison pipeline, LGBTQ issues and high stakes testing.  A highlight of the week for many was when Hillary put in an appearance!
