Paraprofessional Contract Update

October 4, 2016

4 Updates from the paraprofessionals contract

Health Insurance Waiver Open Enrollment, Hubway reimbursement, PD Stipend, Attendance Stipend

  1. Any Unit E member who do not receive health insurance through Cambridge is entitled to a $1600 health insurance waiver program, however, there has typically been a limited window to enter this program.  As a result of the new contract, there will be a one time opportunity from October 7 through November 7.  You will receive information at your home address via US Mail, click here or   contact Heather DiLuciano, CPS Benefits Specialist, 617 349-6440 (hdiluciano@cpsd.us)
  2. You are entitled to a Hubway membership with the same terms as city employees.  Contact Jennifer directly for more information about the program, rates, and how to enroll. (jlawrence@cambridgema.gov; 617-349-4671).
  3. You are entitled to a PD stipend – $125 per “unit” of professional development. See Article 4 D, pages 5 and 6 of the contract or the application form for details of what constitutes a “unit.”   Click here to download the application form.
  4. There was an oversight in not updating the effective dates of the attendance stipend.  The printed copies indicated that it was only until 2015, but the contract posted on the CPS and CEA websites is corrected.
