• Serves as the chief executive officer and sole spokesperson of the CTA
• Represents the CTA before the public and the school administration and attends all school committee meetings.
• Sets the agenda and presides over meetings of the executive committee and general membership.
• Appoints chairpersons and members of all committees, with the advice and consent of the Executive Board.
• Serves as an ex-officio member of all committees, except the Elections Committee.

• Serves as chair of the Grievance Committee.
• Acts for the President, should the President be unable to perform the duties of the office.
• Attends TASC and other MTA/NEA meetings at the request of the president.
• Serves as an ex-officio member of the Contract Committee.

• Holds the funds of the CTA and disburses them in accordance with budgeted authorization.
• Bills the membership for annual dues.
• Maintains a roll of the membership.
• Keeps accurate accounts of receipts and disbursements and submits written reports to the Executive Committee and annual general membership meeting.
• Serves as chairperson of the Finance Committee.
• Serves as an ex-officio member of the Contract Committee.

• Keeps a full and accurate account of all CTA business transacted during meetings.
• Provides faculty representatives with a list of all board members, committee chairs and committee members to be posted in all schools.
• Distributes minutes of the Executive Board to officers and faculty representatives for distribution to the general membership.
• Serves as an ex-officio member of the Contract Committee for Units A & B and receives minutes from Unit C, D & E Contract committees.
